Aerosol Research (AR) charges no article processing charges or in fact any other fee to authors and readers. This mode of publication is commonly referred to as Diamond Open Access.

Maintaining a publishing infrastructure is not without cost. Copernicus Publications puts the same level of care, dedication, and sophistication into articles published in AR as in any other journal we host. Respective costs for typesetting, dissemination, archiving, and outreach are covered by a consortium of funders who generously support the Diamond Open Access philosophy and thereby ensure barrier-free access to a high-quality publishing venue for anyone.

Copernicus in turn offers maximum transparency regarding both scientific quality through our interactive public peer review and journal finances by breaking down our costs to the funder and to the public.
